My background includes a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University.
My title is a Licensed Professional Counselor and I am able to practice in both Wisconsin and Florida.
Post-grad further training includes: brainspotting and DBT.
Past experience also includes: working at an emotional support and crisis hotline, working in a research lab, and volunteer work as a peer facilitator for suicide prevention and NAMI.
My own past mental health challenges led me to a variety of opportunities in mental health, this solidified my passion for this field.

I offer counseling in a way that others have called “refreshing” or “real”. My approach is grounded in connection and being able to be a real person with you. I am not going to sit across from you and just nod. I like to take a collaborative approach and set micro goals for each week to help you keep momentum going between sessions.
This is blended with evidence based therapeutic approaches to help you reach your goals.

This allows for the greatest privacy, autonomy, and ability to decide what care is right for you.
Confidentiality: Billing an insurance company means sensitive treatment details, notes, and diagnoses are shared with the insurer and potentially dozens of outside data entities. This record can occasionally impact future life insurance policies, certain employment opportunities, or security clearances.
Mandatory Diagnosis: Insurance companies require a formal mental health or medical diagnosis to authorize and pay for treatment. Issues like general stress, grief, life transitions, or relationship problems may not meet clinical necessity standards, forcing the application of a label.
Treatment Restrictions: Insurance providers dictate the type, frequency, and length of care. They can deny coverage for essential sessions. Chronic conditions like complex trauma (CPTSD), personality disorders, or deep-seated depression do not resolve in a few weeks. If an auditor sees plateaued progress metrics, they may deem the care "ineffective" or "maintenance therapy" and cut off funding.
Administrative Burden: For practitioners, working with insurance involves the constant risk of retrospective audits or clawbacks, hours fighting with insurance, waiting for months for payment. Bypassing insurance allows your provider to prioritize clinical care.
